Privacy Policy

The short version

We respect your privacy. We collect only what we need to make Olivings work for you, we never sell your data, and we'll always be upfront about what we do with it.

What we collect

When you create an account, we store your email address and any preferences you set (like favourite regions or price ranges). If you save properties to your favourites, we keep track of those too — so they're there when you come back.

We also collect basic usage data — things like which pages you visit and how you found us. This helps us understand what's working and what isn't. We don't track you across other websites.

How we use it

Your data helps us do three things: keep your account running, send you property alerts if you've opted in, and improve the site. That's it. We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Email alerts

If you turn on email alerts in your preferences, we'll occasionally send you new listings that match what you're looking for. You can turn these off at any time from your preferences page — no hoops to jump through.

Cookies

We use three categories of cookies. Only strictly necessary cookies run before you make a choice.

• Strictly necessary. Sign-in session, security, and remembering your referral link. Always on.
• Analytics. Anonymous usage so we know which pages help. Providers: Google Analytics 4, Amplitude (EU region). Off until you accept.
• Advertising. Measures which ads brought you here. Provider: Google Ads. Off until you accept.

You can change your choice any time via Cookie settings or the link in the footer.

Google user data and data security

If you choose to connect your Google Calendar to Olivings, we request access only to the Google Calendar permissions necessary to provide the calendar features you choose to use.

Olivings currently requests the Google Calendar Events permission, which allows the service to view and manage calendar events on your behalf. We use this access only to provide user-requested calendar functionality, such as viewing relevant appointments and creating, updating, or deleting appointments initiated through Olivings.

If you are an agent and choose to connect your Gmail account, we request permission to read and send email on your behalf. We use this access only to send the client messages you have reviewed and confirmed yourself, and to find replies from your own clients so they appear in your workspace. Olivings never sends email automatically, and never scans your inbox beyond mail to and from your own clients.

We do not use Google Calendar or Gmail data for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes, and we do not sell Google user data.

We take technical and organisational measures to protect Google user data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. Data transmitted between your browser, Olivings, Google, and our infrastructure is protected using encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Access to systems processing Google user data is restricted to authorised systems and personnel where necessary to operate and maintain the service.

OAuth credentials and tokens are treated as sensitive authentication information and are not exposed publicly or included in client-side application code. Where Google user data or authentication credentials are stored, access is limited to what is required to provide the service.

Users can revoke Olivings’ access to their Google Account at any time through their Google Account permissions. Where applicable, users may also contact us to request deletion of personal information associated with their Olivings account.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can also request a copy of everything we have on file for you. Just drop us an email at jesse@olivings.com and we'll sort it out.
